On July 6, 1992 the diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Thailand.
In 1997 the Diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan was opened in Bangkok.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev from January 25, 2012 the Diplomatic mission was reorganized into the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
H.E. Mr. Marat Yessenbayev is acting as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Thailand and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific since June 2013.
